Here is the start of the 4th bird in my new Winged Garden collection...
And here, a little progress.
I do wish our yard was home to a few yellow birds.
The birds are starting to get excited now they know that Spring has finally arrived in the northeast. Our sunroom is home to my watercolor table in the spring. The light is wonderful in here with windows on 3 sides. My table sits in front of a the center window facing a Crepe Myrtle that was planted much too close to the house. However, besides having beautiful blooms towards the end of summer, in the spring, it becomes the nesting place for a Cardinal family. Last year I was able to observe everything from the building of their tiny nest, to flying lessons given by the proud father to his new son. The rest of the year, the father looks in on me at least once a day as if he is making sure I am behaving myself. It will interesting to see if they are comfortable enough with me being so close to build this year's nest in the Crepe Myrtle. Do Cardinals build nests every year? Do they build in the same place twice?
Happy Spring to you!
